Description:
Radius plugin in ppp sends incorrect accounting data to radius
server. This bug is caused by lack of support for
RFC 2869 attributes Acct-Input-Gigawords and Acct-Output-Gigawords
Symptoms:
Traffic counters sent to radius server

I experienced the same problem using Ubuntu 7.10.
I solved it using "utf8x" instead of "utf8" with the "inputenc" package.
