It turned out that my DE (i3 in this case) did not have polkit agent running.
Manually running one (from MATE) makes things work.
Maybe it is possible to detect the missing agent somehow, or add it to
documentation?

someone could consider packaging the PC/SC ifdhandler from OpenCT for

But OpenSC should still use it through PC/SC as I guess the

As a semi-regular OpenSC developer I suggest not to do this.
PKCS#11 as it is currently implemented really needs to be explicitly
"enabled" by specifying a module in applications. Also, I would not
want jarsign or keytool to accidentally talk to a s

The symlink to libstdc++.so is faulty and can be fixed with:
sudo ln -sf /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6 /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-linux-gnu/4.4.5
/libstdc++.so
Hope this helps. But it is a bug indeed.

Hello,
If using PKCS#11 it should not Depend on OpenSC, only Recommend as it
allows to add smart card support (but an alternative PKCS#11 could be
used instead, maybe a softhsm or a proprietary one)
I further suggest to remove any references to opensc-pkcs11.so in

The best fix for this problem would be in package openct instead:
- build OpenCT without CCID support (to not compete with libccid, which
should be the preferred driver for CCID device access)
- make the package configure OpenCT-s PC/SC plugin by default (it provides

Since OpenSC 0.11.5 you can use --application-name "something" to change the
app name from pkcs15-init to something else.

If this bug is still relevant, please enable debug logging by setting "debug =

send the log file to opensc-de...@opensc-project.org mailing list.

If the PKCS#11 module works and lists all required objects, it is not a bug.
The annoying terminal flooding with incorrect error messages has been fixed in
the upcoming 0.12.0 release and can be remedied with the current Debian version
by setting error_file to /dev/null in /etc/opensc/opensc.con
OpenSC supports PKCS#11 v2.20, but the reference to resource sharing is still
valid and the same in the older spec.
This has been fixed in upstream, for the upcoming 0.12.0 release, but can be
changed in the given 0.11.13 version by setting "lock_login = false;" in
/etc/opensc/opensc.conf.

Dumping the contents of the wiki with garbage, outdated, partially incorrect
and user generated wiki style content to the hard disk is not a good idea.
So by some means, Debian is doing the right thing by accident. Wiki dump shall
be discontinued in future releases as well.
