apt-cache policy xserver-xorg-core lists that vertsion as the only one
availible in lenny, and also as the one installed.
I'm pretty much stuck here.

the name of the torrent file in question contains one character that's
maybe problematic, an e with a backward accent. all the filenames seem
to be ok. (no non weird characters, no umlauts, no accents)
i tried another torrent, (knoppix ISO image) and

i cant start xsessions, since the only error-messages in xorg.0.log are
about sunffb i suspect the problem to be there. the part of the log with
