I attached the changed files, but forgot to attach the patch file
itself. Here it is.

Again with inspiration from /etc/default/rsync and /etc/init.d/rsync, I
set up an option in /etc/default/awstat called AWSTATS_NICE. It sets
the niceness level for awstats.pl and awstats_buildstaticpages.pl run

Earlier I suggested changing the names of the default configuration
files to avoid having awstats.pl unexpectedly fall back on using the
default just because it couldn't read the one specified on the command

I have some comments and a suggestion for handling AWStats
configuration files in Debian.
OBSERVATION:
When you invoke "/usr/lib/cgi-bin/awstats.pl -config=mysite", it
searches the following directories in order:
/usr/lib/cgi-bin
/etc/awstats
/usr/local/etc

I would like to describe a scenario that illustrates when the bug occurs.
Consider two sets of awstats configuration files, where several sites
share some common directives, and several other sites share some other
common directives:

Just a note that to use the "nested includes" referred to in this bug
report requires an additional patch like I submitted here (#575545):

Otherwise, all lines after the nested include line will be ignored in
the configuration files, beca
I just noticed my patch for awstats_buildstaticpages.pl assumed that the
spurious warning message had already been taken out (as suggested in bug
report 519319 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=519319).
So, my patch does not completely fix the problem in

BELOW each include line are ignored (except for the include lines in
the top level configuration file). This bug has been reported here:

I experienced the same problem, that is, when using "no_normalize"

I tracked it down to the no_normalize child exiting so quickly (all it
does is execute "true"), that the yaret parent process had not even

On a fresh install of Samba, I answer "No" to the following question:

However, it goes ahead and creates it anyway. The problem is that the
