Package: gdesklets

After a recent update from gdesklets 0.35.2-2 to 0.35.2-3 (via
Synaptic), I can no longer start gdesklets.
I have tried doing a complete removal and re-install of the package, and
have tried deleting my ~/.gdesklets directory in case there was
OK, I feel silly.
I forgot that I had actually compiled gDesklets myself due to the Debian
version being out of date. Oddly enough, it will compile just fine, but
when I un-installed, and got the apt version, two new dependencies (I
think python-xml was one) were installed. So, now gDesklets run
Not sure if this is the same bug, but better safe than sorry:
After recent update to Gnome 2.10 through apt (unstable), gdesklets is
well and truly broken. The daemon will start, but not a single desklet
will load.
