Package: pepperflashplugin-nonfree
Version: 1.8.1+deb8u1
Severity: Grave
Greetings Bart,
Today (7-13-2016) I am just getting a message that the package
'pepperflashplugin-nonfree' has no installation candidate, and it won't
install. That only happens on 32-bit OS computers (with Debian 8 fully

Dear maintainer,
I have the same issue, confirmed in several computers.
I have Debian 8 stable with all updates installed, 2 desktops installed LXDE

Dear Adam, Tormod and Axel, thank you for your answers.

Of course! I forgot about that. I love the commitment in Debian to create
the most stable OS possible. Even if it is a line of code change, should
"bake" on unstable first.
Dear Tormod,
I read your email and my understanding is that only the unstable version
5.34 and beyond will be fixed? What about the stable version 5.30? Can you
also fix that?
I would be very disappointed if the stable version is not fixed. I work a

I have a question and would appreciate if someone can point me to the right
direction.
I would like to fix this warning on my own. I code in bash and other
languages. My difficulty here is that I cannot find the offending code
anywhere on my installations.
I know that grep and sed can work on bin

Santiago, thank you for your response. However, I believed that we were
passed this point already, no?

I have not looked at the code, but this approach seems to me to have the

At some point the code will compare the date of the version with the value

First and foremost I am for fixing the stable version as soon as possible
(by fixing I mean remove the offending warnings). The maximum priority here,
in my view, it is to ensure that the people who depends on Debian stable can
get rid of these rude and disruptive warnings (which will scare and con

Hello all,
I want to bring to your attention that LXDE is also affect by this. I am
also getting this disruptive and rude "warnings" every time that I start my
(fully updated, stable version) Debian Jessie LXDE computers.
It seems that the author does not understand (or doesn't care) that if you
Greetings all,
Again, I tested this with Debian 8 Jessie 8.3 and the problem is still the
same. Any ideas for a workaround, or if this will ever get fixed?

Greetings Bart,
As I said earlier in the thread, this problem can be easily replicated (just
do the simple bash script I did earlier in the thread and use it in a
computer that needs to update the flash plug in - it stalls and fails).
This should, in my opinion, convince you about looking into it
Well,
The maintainer will not look into it. I believe that there's something
malformed or suboptimal on this package that causes this problem, and I
believe that this problem may appear in other circumstances if not looked
into and fixed.
To be fair, however, there's a workaround that works (so f

Greetings Bart,
First, thank you for your work maintaining this package. We appreciate it!
I came across a failure of update-pepperflashplugin-nonfree that is quite

Hello,
What is the status of this bug?
I have the same problem using Debian Wheezy 7.7 32bits. I tried all
