I agree that smartmon should default to '-n standby' option, either by
the default configuration file or by hard wired default in smartd.
Querying smart data seems to result in spinning up the disk in many
cases (at least Seagates). Spinning up the disk needlessly is not good
for power consumptio
nses.
Choosing or writing a non opensource license will make them have to
leave sourceforge and might lead into forking Linuxsampler into free
(or opensource) and nonfree (proprietary/non opensource) versions.
