I also just ran into this problem after "upgrading" a private gallery
installation from 2.3 to the 2.3.1 package...
All seems to work well besides the upload applet (and interface localisation,
but that's another issue...).

Apparently, this bug is caused by xorg itself instead of konsole, eg. a
simple "Page Up" also causes kMail or Thunderbird to insert a slash bevor
executing the "page up" function.

Ok, I took some time to play with Amarok and think I nailed the cause
down.
The problem seems to be related to the Amarok module of the Universal
Sidebar. If this mdoule is loaded, and the volume control in Amarok is
not set to "0", Amarok restarts if I request it to quit.
