using debian sid, I can reproduce this crash with up-to-date packages.
Not sure, but it looks like fife needs updating.
I have been able to play HEAD unknown-horizons from their git and get rid of
any crashes
after I rebuilt fifechan and fifengine from HEAD too.

bvirt/cpu_map.xml is
missing and asking "is libvirtd running?".
Installing libvirt-daemon solves the problem, but I feel it installs
way too much unneeded packages (libvirtd, qemu-kvm...).
Perhaps /usr/share/libvirt/cpu_map.xml should be provided in a data-only
package?
