40 is a bug in gedit's event handling and already solved with paolo borelli's patch (comment #14 in GNOME bug #376750). Loïc, could you use paolo's patch instead of my patch? Practically my patch works fine without any problem, but theoretically paolo's one is better. Cheer

damental solution, I would say that xim handling in Mozilla (or libX11?) should be fixed. Something that works across the whole system is always to be preferred. That way, users do not get surprises.
