i've adopted the patch for testing's open-iscsi version. It really is
pretty useful here for our servers running intel NICs with iscsi boot.
Would be nice to see it included.

Hi,
I've encountered the exact same bug, but I could circumvent the issue by
removing the need to load bnx2 in the initrd:
remove bnx2 from /etc/initramfs-tools/modules
update-initramfs -u
Now it works, but loading bnx2 in the initrd still fails.

I am using Xen with backends via open-iscsi. The problem is that open-iscsi
gets stopped before Xen thus making backend devices vanish too early.
