That's a good point. Is there a mechanism for resolving such conflicts
in Debian? Is one needed?
Something (GNOME, Gaim, I don't know) has already registered

When given an XMPP URI, gaim-url-handler crashes.
Using the URI given as an example when gaim-url-handler is invoked
without arguments, the crash looks like this:
$ gaim-url-handler

Clicking on XMPP URIs (xmpp:) does not work in GNOME web browsers.
Please register gaim-url-handler as the GNOME URI handler for XMPP
URIs.
Something similar to this should do it:

This happens after suspending to disk as well.

Linux kernel version 2.6.16 broke cpufreq support for me. I can no
longer load the module acpi-cpufreq, which means that software such as
cpufreqd doesn't work.
Example:

A newer upstream version of this package is available. There have been
seven new releases since 1.0.8. An update would be really appreciated.
For instance, kismet doesn't seem to work with the older version.
Thanks!

Hi,
The problem disappeared when I upgraded that machine to Evolution 2.4.

was never recorded.)

Hi,
The problem is not the README, but the fact that Kismet in Debian is
very old by now. Support for ipw2100 was added in version 2004-10-R1.
The Debian package is only at version 2004-04-R1. The current version is
2005-01-R1, which further improves ipw2100 support.
