I was able to reproduce the problem just by installing the activemq
package. Besides the already mentioned /usr/share/activemq/bin/run.jar
there were multiple other dangling symlinks like
activemq-{core,console,jaas,run,jmdns}.jar and kahadb.jar

I have tracked this down to one file. This can be excluded from the
mysql-server-5.5 install. I expect also to be able to confim and verify
fixed in a squeeze chroot.

It appears that the longer offlineimap runs and the more folders it
syncs, the more memory it consumes. Before finishing up syncing my
mail (around 70 folders) the process ended up using around 513m VIRT
and 335m RES, which is pretty hug
