The problem can be isolated to the AX_CFLAGS_GCC_OPTION options - commenting them *all* out sorts out all the problems at the cost of not using the settings - so this is only a hint. However, this at least gives an idea of how to test how to put these settings back. HTH. I'll keep looking... --
