I found the following log. It is the relevant information from

The problem with synaptic appears to have cleared up before the upgrade
from 0.70~pre1 to 0.70~pre1+b1. Previous to this there was a dpkg
upgrade from 1.15.7.2 to 1.15.8.4, though I am not sure if this predates
the clearing of the problem.

Hi,
I've no longer had any problem with 2.6.32-5-686 and WEP-protected and
similar APs. The only AP I'm still unable to connect to with -5 is a
hidden WPA2-PSK-CCMP AP.
I tried to take a look at the changes made in src:2.6.32-18 but the
patch is too "intrusive."

lvm init script. This is also useful if you don't have your root filesystem on
the btrfs raid, so you could drop the btrfs stuff from the initramfs.
