file. In this configuration, log rotations are done by the daily syslog

I was having the same error when running ccsm or compiz.real ccp inside of a
slim session as opposed to as a continuation of another login - it turned
out that LANG was unset.

As far as I can see, this is a bug in libnss-ldap, failing to return
quickly when the network is down or the ldap server is unavailable.
It can not be soled in sysvinit, as sysvinit is just calling the
required glibc functions to do its job.

If I try to install gnome after the installation, this is what I get

so I could get this into the next version of of Debian packages if it works
for you.

I can't reproduce it either on an AMD64, single core.
Tomorrow I will try it out with an Intel Core2 and see if that will
change anything.
I do notice Ghostscript 8.62; I've got 8.64 here.
