Okay, i downloaded mini and will try it out tomorrow (and this is my first
time trying out GNU/kFreeBSD). Thank you for the suggestions, and I will

I just get to the normal grub menu from my existing debian wheezy/linux
install (as if no stick is plugged in at all). I tried forcing boot from
usb, but then it directly says "no bootable media, please insert bootable
disk and try again".

Exactly what URLs did you get the images from? (Because there are so
many images, I'm not sure which ones you tried).

What precisely happens? When you try to boot from it, do you get a GRUB
menu? Or some error message? (Take a photo of the error on-screen if
you need to).

I wanted to try out debian gnu/kfreebsd by installing it from a usb stick,
so i downloaded testing and wheezy in dvd versions, and used dd to copy it
(with no other options except if and of). I tried /dev/sdx and /dev/sdxn
but both do not work. This procedure normally works for debian lin
