In a related note what does everybody else think about setting up something
along the lines of #debian-bsd or the openprojects network? I for one think it

The reason to go with BASH is because it is *very* good. Yes it mgiht be easier
to start with ash but I don't think that would give most of us what we want. I
know I would not be happy without bash and given the poll results I think most
people would agree with me. On the whold bootloader issue
I would volunter to maintain web space. I don't have much experince but I do
know html and have time to do it. I would assume someone would ask the Debian
people for space on our behalf. Or if someone would point me towards whom to
ask I would be happy to do so.

What would be the point? If you want the userland that the flavor of BSD that
you like comes with why not just use it? After all they all tend to be at least
as "free" as Debian in any case. I would think the whole point of this project
would be to get the GNU toolset with a BSD kernel and the D
