processed FJP's review mails and turned them into a few bug reports &
patches:

BTW, there's also another bug: xorg doesn't have layouts for the acorn
arch. I don't know if there is still acorn hardware out there.

Here is the patch I propose to switch to console-setup.
It essentially boils down to
replacing console-keymaps-amiga with console-setup-amiga-ekmap
replacing console-keymaps-atari with console-setup-atari-ekmap
replacing console-keymaps-at and console-keymaps-usb with console-setup-pc-ekmap

Actually, this is all due to ch(de) not being in xorg.xml any more since

Hello,
Samuel result here as Ben Armstrong. It seems to be working like a
charm, loading the firmware asking for ESSID and PSK, but no further,
see attached dmesg. There is nothing else in the syslog between
[ 180.876374] wlan0: associated
and
[ 181.887598] wlan0: deauthenticating from f8:1e

While adding software speech synthesis support to d-i, I had to ship
alsa-utils' /etc/init.d/alsa-utils startup script, which unmutes the
audio card, but this script uses /lib/lsb/init-functions, which is not
shipped in d-i.
I would like to avoid forking the script. Which way should I go?
