I'm remastering an etch install cd to use and was having trouble figuring out
how to define the volume group and logical volume names during preseeding. I
would prefer the vg0-lv0 type naming rather then the auto hostname-partition
format.
On searching the mailing list archives, I found

I'm having trouble getting my preseeded partman recipe working properly. I
always get the no root partition defined error.
Here is the partman recipe I'm using

I have a dialog driven configuration script I want to use to configure several
aspects of the install. The preseed works for the majority of the install,
all the apps get installed, then it doesn't seem to want to run the dialog
script.
I'm not sure if there is an issue with scripts that requ

Hey guys, love that squeeze can be cat'd direct to the usb device for usb
installs. I've remastered a squeeze kde install image, it burns and installs
fine from dvd (theres more then just squeeze on it), but when I try to cat it
to the usb drive, it won't boot like a stock squeeze iso.

Thanks so much for responding Thomas, and I do have to apologize at that

Anyhow, I made the updated xorriso binary, then
I could have sworn I had tested this previously, but it doesn't seem to be
working for me. I have a preseed configured and it will install on virgin
hardware without problem. But if I run the same install procedure for a
second time on the same machine, I keep getting no root partition error

I'm trying to setup and run the scripted partitioning udeb I found on the list
a while back (http://hezmatt.org/~mpalmer/scripted-partitioning/).
I've got the vast majority of it all working, just for some reason whatever
pattern I preseed, debconf always reports the pattern as NULL. Which th
Looking over the preseed docs for setting up software raid, it looks like you
need to create a separate raid device for each partition? I'm a software
raid newb, and I've only set it up a couple times going through d-i
manually.
What I'm looking to do is create one raid device containing all
