a wireless USB mouse is not working in KDE.
There are two mouse driver modules loaded by default:
hid and usbmouse.
The usbmouse module has to be manually removed
(modprobe -r usbmouse)
for the mouse to work.

version of Debian installer (the "beta 1" announced about a month ago),

Try booting with devfs=nomount. This issue looks lik
f PE size on LVM2 is different than it was on LVM1 - it doesn't
restrict the maximum size of an LV but it does seem to impact on the metadata
area sizes. If this turns out to be the problem I'll try to get some metrics

probably change the required order of the installer steps. But as

The result was always the same: during the apt-configuration

It is present in glibc-2.17 & glibc-2.18 as released by GNU. Oddly, in
glibc git, the buggy version appears.

Hope nobody's been waiting for a reply from me on this one... Since I
can't get it to boot, I've got a dead Ultra 5 (well, a couple,
actually), and I really couldn't say what kernel options are included,
or what fs was used for the initial ramdisk. If it helps, though, I'll
