It is convenient to have compose keys for both hands, e.g.
capslock and ralt, similar to the two shift keys.
When running
$ sudo dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration
users can only select one compose key.

$ setxkbmap -option compose:caps
$ setxkbmap -option compose:ralt
