Hi release team,
As mentioned during our last meeting, the last bit I was meaning to fix
before r0 was the (non-)installation of Recommends that was (mostly)
impacting the kernel.
Ben was kind enough to take this off from my shoulders, and two
components needed fixing:
- base-installer:
* En
Package: network-console
Severity: normal
Tags: d-i
Answering network-console/login causes network-console to exit
immediately upon login.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Include the following in a preseed.cfg:
d-i anna/choose_modules string network-console
d-i network-console/login string Start

It would be nice if the debian installer included the option to
"secure erase" SSDs before creating a partition table during
installation.
A used SSD may have been "over-filled", especially a consumer grade
device that is not over-pro

Because many consumer grade SSDs are not over-provisioned by the
manufacturer it might be nice to have an option, in the automatic
partitioning, that reserves a percentage (or a choice of percentages)
of a SSD and leaves the space un-p

Wrong :) I may be overly dramatic, but Stretch didn't have this problem.
The reason is simple: gnupg was "Priority: important" on Stretch, so it
was installed with the base system,
