The installation went smoothly (including harddisk recognition) up to this
point, when the
PS command showed Parted running. There was no progress for hours and no
harddisk or CD

I was taking a look at EFI installer support for arm64 (reusing the
recipes-amd64-efi) and came across something I'm not sure of. Part of
the diff between recipes/atomic and recipes-amd64-efi/atomic is:
-96 512 200% linux-swap
+100% 512 200% linux-swap
I expected the two to differ only in the pre
partman-basicfilesystems_98_source.changes uploaded successfully to localhost

Thank you for the hint. I tried modifying the lvm-base.sh code and
reinstall a Main Server using Debian Edu Jessie, and got the
reinstallation working again.

hardware that uses broadcom 10G cards.
Those broadcom cards are only correctly detected with the 3.2 kernel from
the backports (and with an additional non-free driver).

Anyway I'm obliged to install squeeze because the software stack I will use
has not been ported and tested on wheezy yet.
