I tried to install into a VirtualBox virtual machine on a Windows Vista
host, but the hard drive is not recognised.
I was prompted to choose a driver but PIIX does not work.
The lenny installer does work, so obviously I used that.
Sjoerd, do you have any more input on this bug report? If not, I
suggest we close it as unreproducable.

I can confirm your bug, my syslog, kern.log and messages files grow very
rapidly with these kernel trace messages. Also the ethetrnet-card is not
recognized during installation of Debian/squeeze, so I had to use a separate
3Com eth-card. My system is a HP Compaq dc7900 Convertible Minitower.

I tried installing Emdebian Grip 1.0 using the preseeding method suggested at:

and the preseeding fails in two ways:
1. First, you do not get a screen (after network detection) which asks you to

is actually to re-enable the prompt so that when Automatic Install is
selected without editing the boot command line, the user is prom

Ctrl+Alt+F2, at first things appear fine. However, when I press
Ctrl+Alt+F1 to re-enter the graphical install, the graphical
