Well, if it's a known issue, fix it fast because "customers" are
getting the "I knew it, Linux is broken" message within 30 seconds of
encountering linux. And of course "the geeks don't see the problem" with it
nor their geeky pencil protectors, etc.
OK, geeky compromise: replace it with the ANSI
