Newbie: boot from floppy too slow

moin moin,just now I install a test Debian, i have already WIN2000+SuSE,the debian only for kernel and programm test.so i boot it from floppy, but boot-phase is too slow!!!Have anyone idea, why is it so slow?what can i do?Thinks in advance!Chuan
