Hi,
I am used to installing Debian by PXE and serial console. For that
purpose I'm familiar with editing the isolinux config files to have
the kernel serial settings (console=ttyS… etc) in isolinux/txt.cfg.
Now for the first time I am trying to install a system that has a

I am talking about no keyboard and monitor, just a serial terminal.
This is basic unix functionality that is easily enabled.

Don't know the answer to your question, but why don't you just use debconf
to ask your questions?
You'd need to create a small udeb with the

I just completed my first serial console install of debian over the
network, using d-i. Even base-config is wrapped correctly now.
Though, we need to fix the default inittab so it spawns a getty on the
serial port, at least if console points to /dev/ttyS*.

that particular question.. I forgot that there is a file named "kernel-config"
that contains the uncommented .config kernel entries..
Unfortunately, CONFIG_SERIAL_CONSOLE is NOT in there.. :(

I don't think so. Getting a simple serial console on our i386

it myself.What's your experience?

which complicates matters for a serial install as there

Hello,
I apologize in advance if this is not the right
list for this question.
I would like to be able to do installs on machines
that have no monitor, only terminals connected through
the serial port.
I read in the release notes that this is supported, but
I have not been able to find any ad
