AFAICS the new netinst CD of yesterday does contain the aic7xxx
driver. This gives me a better sequence of SCSI drives,

It's down due to hardware problems. Was supposed to get up again
yesterday, but it didn't. Hopefully, we'll see it up and running in a
short while.

You are mistaken (as of ~Dec 20th); moreover the aic7xxx module is not
needed for USB CD ROM drives.

It's probably quite tricky to solve this.

Hi folks,
Using the Sarge netinst CD of yesterday I tried to install
Debian on a SCSI disk.
d-i gave me an unusual sequence of SCSI drives to select
the boot disk from. Here is the list of disks as presented
by d-i:
/dev/scsi/host1/bus0/target0/lun0/disc (USB disc)
/dev/scsi/host3/bus0/ta
