Discussing with Jeff Bailey on IRC today indicates that a solution is forthcoming on this bug: he estimates that in a week, there will be new glibc packages in the archive that don't depend on the upstream kernel headers for what they expose to userspace. Is this an acceptable timeline to d-i folk
