I have a Tekram DC390U2B
card that has been working fine on a
Gigabyte 586SG [with AMD K6-III/400 on a powerleap adapto

Well, what is the upshot here for the purposes of boot-floppies?
Document the argument to workaround?
File a bug against the kernel to disable the one driver in favor of
the other as Karl recommended?
