No, the lenny installer won't do UUIDs. You have to use the squeeze
installer:

my system is QNAP TS-409, which is armed platform

When I start Debian Lenny installer based on instruction from
http://www.cyrius.com/debian/orion/qnap/ts-409/install.html my disks are
assigned to /dev/sd{a,b,c}.

I am trying to install Debian 2.2 r0. While the first boot to start
installation system hangs after the line:
md driver 0.36.6 MAX_MD_DEV=4, MAX_REAL=8
I was able to install on this computer Redhat 7 and Mandrake 7.2, so the
problem seems to be specific to Debian.

I've performed a standard installation with Debian 2.2.
MBR installed /dev/hda (/boot mounted on /dev/hda1 which is 100MB)
PC with Amibios v1.5 1995-12-19, Pentium 133, Disk 1,2GB
and I have the following messages which appears (not the same message at
