the several warnings that some
symbolic links can't be copied
6- unmount the partition
7- use the USB disk to install debian on my new hp laptop
That's it.
So, my issue is solved: You may do wathever you like with this bug report
now.
Thanks to the folks on #debian-boot for the assistance.

Hello,
I've tried 2 other distribution and the scheme is the same:
1) Ubuntu: Doesn't work. Parted shows the same strange results
2) Fedora: Work. Parted shows a regular msdos partition table with 512
bytes logical sectors
Type
File System Flags
2 121kB 1595kB 1475kB primary
esp
Any idea what could be going wrong and/or what to try to solve the issue?
Cyrille
Of course.
But that page relies on lot of folk remedies imho. So, I believe the best is to
have some chat about it.
For examples:
1) "For multi-user systems or systems with lots of disk space, it's best to put
/var, /tmp, and /home each on their own partitions separate from the /
partition
end of the
step "choose and install programs".
Maybe a problem with the commands
udpkg --configure --force-configure pkgsel
or
{pkgsel-postinst} /bin/sh /var/lib/dpkg/info/pkgsel-postintst configure
which run during hours.
Thanks. Good work anyway.
Sincerely yours.
