Dear Maintainer,
I just tested daily snapshot installed for amd64 for trixie, and it
appears that some parts of this issue are fixed (I do not know when,
probably years ago).
For example

I just used the daily netinst for testing on arm64 in qemu.
I used the non-expert install (default).
In the selection of tasks, I only added "SSH server". No standard utils,
laptop tools or desktop, printer or we

I don't find this exotic at all, and rather straightforward,
and probably the first thing user will try.

I am not sure if this is bug more for debootstrap or some other package
(base-files?), but:
I think ~/.local/bin should be added to default non-root PATH.
I belive Fedora and Ubuntu already does that.

any progress on this, I still have this issue.
I think the culprit might be in the `list-devices cd`, but the git /
salsa organization of debian-installer is very convoluted, and I can't
track it down where it is.

The dmcrypt / LUKS doesn't enable discard by default on purpose, as it might
potentially be a security issue. I don't think personally it is actual

I can confirm this is unrelated to libc6-udeb issues.
I am able to go past choose-mirror on strech alpha 7 netboot.iso (however
it fails with libc6-udeb 2.23-4 , and a segfault in 'sh' much later in the
install process after retriving installer

I am normally using FAI to installing Debian boxes,
but I was evaluating migration to amd64 from i386,
so needed some more control. Mostly applications
(some are i386 only), and some user testing if
everything is OK.
I done this manually using squee
-installer is slightly
pointless for a while, because of udev issues, which will be fixed
when eglibc 2.13 will enter unstable. (it already is fixed for example
in libc6.1 2.13-0exp5 for experimental).
