I think it's ok to do that. I downloaded the 2.2.16 kernel from
kernel.org. (I'll check it again just to be sure...) and the aacraid
driver where there, but not in the 2.2.17 kernel. I do know that

Aacraid driver seems to work now.
I downloaded the 2.2.16-4 kernel which contains the aacraid driver.
Everythink is installing now, I only have to copy the right modules into
the system.

so far and publish them on the net. At least until the poweredge is
booting and installing out of the box. I didn't find a
poweredge howto because I
just cannot find anything on the net and hopefully can help someone with
it.
And I don't want to install RH onto it.
Also I did read somewhere that you guys where buzy make a poweredge boot
from CD Rom right? Maby I can test thinks out :-))
