I think most people who use a DVD-iso will use internet to install more
packages, and will remove the DVD or stick. I sell Debian DVD's.

Dear Maintainer,
I did install Debian with "Debian GNU/Linux 8.0.0 _Jessie_ - Official amd64 DVD
Binary-1 20150425-12:54". After that I found in /etc/apt/sources.list lines
with "contrib" enabled (see attachment).
I would expect
k this was a diskussion,
this was maybe somebody who don't know Debian. Or somebody who does not
care about free software, and wants to provocate a bit.
But "backports main" is DFSG software and an official part of Debian. Or
an "official Debian service", like
release. Now, the discussion is moot and

I've waited long for this. I've published about it. For me it's a big
point. And then comes Cyril who removes it at the last moment...
Not OK in my opinion.

Paul van der Vlis.

Some packages in stable have the same problem.
Take a look at Chromium.

even the mouse hangs.
My testPC is an Asus V6-P8H61ELX (Intel) and I used an USB DVD player.

I've used an USB stick for the the installation and the i386 port. It
was on an older Intel-based laptop.

After network-installation the cdrom was still in /etc/apt/sources.list.
The TFT screen did 640x480, 38 Khz, 73hz.
Normal is 1024x768.

It was OK, with some minimal points.
