I just went through the same trouble yesterday with a Dell 2650 PowerEdge.
I was able to successfully boot from the 2.4 boot floppies, but then I had
to compile the bcm5700 driver on a separate machine using the
bcm5700-source package. This was a major PITA, because I didn't at first
