Essential: yes, seems there is probably a historical reason. It would
probably be less confusing/complex to use just one to designate both.

I don't habla italiano either, however I can tell you as the owner of a
Buslogic Flashpoint SCSI host adapter, that the modules are separate
instances. Generic Buslogic support comes from one module while
specific Flashpoint support from another.
