When running the lenny installer it doesn't find the two SATA disks I
have in my system. It comes with the following screen/message:

I used the debian-installer a number of times, and at one time I was
working with it's partitioning resizing functionality. I hit the back
button before I did anything permanent, but at that moment my system
froze. Only a hard reset brought the system

the package manager, it takes +10 seconds) but there is no feedback

My system has both an ethernet network interface and a firewire
interface. The firewire interface is apparently also handled as an
ethernet interface, receiving the 'eth0' name.

When working through input and selection fields in the gui installer
with a keyboard, is used to go to the next field. I would like to

My guess is as good as yours, I think. You can download a driver package from
their website, however their license is clearly not open source compatible.
