could ping the system being installed. Because no disk activity when
installing (extra) packages was suspicious to me, I assumed the
installation process had hung (maybe because it ran out of diskspace?),
so I reset the system to retry the instal

k are unneccesary on
Linux/Mac68k, like usbutils, pciutils and hotplug (no such hardware).
Starting hotplug even failes with a messages like "No hotplug support in
kernel". I'm not sure if these packages are also unneccesary on other
Linux/m68k-subarchitectures though!
