I could probably help shaving some 20-50 kilobytes off of the
kernel-image (hopefully), but that would result in an install-kernel
that wouldn't be 100% suitable for a normal system, s

I think there's quite a lot of things that can be done to a standard
2.4-kernel to decrease its size. Now, I don't have an alpha, so I can't
test my changes directly, but I'll have a look at the source and see
if I can come up with something to sha

expressed an interest in having one.
