I'm happy to report that with the netinst image from Oct. 13, PCMCIA initializes, and the installer finds the CDROM and successfully reads packages from it. I didn't proceed further to complete the install, but it looks like the PCMCIA CDROM problem has been solved. Thanks! ...Akkana -
