As with flash-kernel I needed to make libdebian-installer
use /proc/device-tree/model if it exists (and continue to
use /proc/cpuinfo:Hardware if it does not).

The current excuses reported
I can confirm this happening with the latest mini.iso using only LVM and
ext4 partitions. Mounting /proc in /target/proc and re-running the
installation step fixes the problem.
