When installing a virtual machine, I'd really like to use the entire
unpartitioned virtual disk as a filesystem, rather than partitioning
it. Doing so then makes the virtual disk contain a filesystem image
directly, which I can more easily mount from t

Hi,
There is a unicode version of nsis that support unicode at
http://www.scratchpaper.com/
Can we use that version for w32-loader? I'm trying to add Malayalam
support to w32-loader and currently stuck if we can't have unicode
support. Currently it is a separate project and the nsis guys are

Hi,
I am not able to set clock on compaq 6510b and compaq presario c700
model laptops.
$ sudo hwclock
select() to /dev/rtc to wait for clock tick timed out
The same error shows while booting up.
Fedora core 8 with 2.6.23 kernel was able to setup this correctly on 6510b.

The DVD contains ttf-indic-fonts directory and it has devanagari
(hindi), panjabi, tamil and bengali fonts. Malayalam is missing from
there.

I installed the system from the floppies version (200703..), and almost
everything was ok (except several disk space problems witch I solved

Hi,
I've been looking for testing d-i images for hd-media, but they don't
seem to exist.
That let me to wonder if there was a reason why there were so many
flavours of the debian-installer initrd, and if it would not be more
straightforward to reduce their number.
Wouldn't it be better to have,

Apologies for answering my own post, but this seems to be a problem many people
have had.
For
some reason (there could be many) the boot kernel can't mount the root
file system and hence cannot find all devices and tools to run the
login.

Hi,
I have downloaded the lenny DVD image from last week and installed
the Desktop in Malayalam. Even though the malayalam-desktop task lists
ttf-malayalam-fonts and I have used a network mirror during the
install, I ended up being with a system without Malayalam fonts and
