Frans,
Using 'the flexible way' resulted in successful boot! At the moment I haven't
enough time to do the full installation, but I'll try in the next days.
Thank you for your help!

Hi Andre,
Can you please try debugging the hang you're experiencing?
Approximately sequence of steps:
1. Run X, wait for it to hang.
2. Log in via ssh, or from another virtual console.
3. Note the process id of the hanged X process.
4. Run gdb.
5. Enter command 'attach ', where pid is process id

Hi Kurt,
I've just switched over the daily d-i builds for amd64 from you to aba, so
no need to worry about those anymore ;-)
Thank you very much for all the past work you've done in this respect
(although I expect you'll keep on contributing to d-i where needed).

Hi,
some additions.
I wrote the bug while installing and was a bit quick. As it turns out
later during install the german dictionary gets installed and it asks
again what dictionary should be default.
So the package selection works fine. It just shouldn't ask I think. Or
at least only ask once.
Greeting you warmly with a wish that's sincere for a healthy happy and
wonderful days.
