I have a bootable Debian 2.2 CD set that boots fine and
begins loading linux then hangs on “Uncompressing Linux”.
The system is a Compaq Deskpro 6000 with a 200MHZ Pentium
CPU and 256 MB or RAM. It has a Adaptec 2940 SCSI Contoller with a SCSI HD and
SCSI CDROM. Video is Matrox Millenn
There don't seem to be any kernel udebs available for MIPS, and I'd like
to try working on them. I swear I've seen documentation that referred
to udebs somewhere, but I can't find it. Where can I read about how to
create a udeb?

check out from CVS, read the docs, build it all and try to install.
