The failure is reproducible for both dhcp-client and also the version of pump from 'sid' that I manually copied to the installation system's hard drive. My normal Debian 'sid' system works fine on the same connection (cable, NIC, etc.) using pump. Thus, the *only* difference is boot-floppies. I
