I do not currently have access to a machine on which I can compile my own dac960
module. I cannot install debian on the only alpha machine I have access to (at this
time) without this module. Can anyone help me out?

I finally decided to try installing Debian on my PC, alongside Windows
Me. However, all went wrong!
My system
My system is 450mhz AMD k6-II, 64mb sdram. I have 2 hard drives, one being
~2gb, and the other 30gb divided into 2gb partitions (to avoid using large

machine. I have a rootfs with all the basic binaries req, and another
disk to boot from.
It boots, Ok and loads the rootfs ok, Login prompt OK,
When I type username and password, it comes up with pam errors (ie can't find

The 2.2.19pre17 version has a messed up color map for me (I tried the
2.2.17-idepci kernel and the color map was fine, so I don't think my hard
