As reported in article of
comp.os.linux.setup, images-1.20/root.bin consists entirely of nulls
(and its md5sum matches that in md5sums.txt). This also seems to be the
case in the testing version of 2.2.17.

For some reason,
http://www.debian.org/~treacy/bad_links/releases/potato
shows somewhat fewer bad links although they point to
the same place.

Dear all,
I forgot to say that I want to install Debian 2.2 on a raid 0 array. So -

Maxtor Diamond Max 8GB
Lite On CDRom 32x
I've plugged the controler on a pci slot and connected the hdd to it. In the
bios I set boot device to "S

Well, we have to just live with parts of the install process being
translated and part not being translated. What else can be do.
Better to try to achive what is achievable.

I am trying to install debian 2.2 on a machine with a SmartRaid
controller as said in the subject. I am getting on tty3 an error
message that keeps repeating "open error" as soon as dbootstrap starts
up, even at the opening screen. This message is repeated forever. I
have compiled a new kernel
I have just been installing potato into a new partition (created with fips)
on an i386. I keep getting the warning message hdc: lost interrupt. the
installation has taken ages: about 1 hour each for the kernel and base
installation. Surely this is not what you expect?
Are the 2 symptoms connected
