Hey, I moved some files around and it finally went through. tty3 was
usefull in seeing what it was actually wanting. The displays in the
installer always reference images-1.44/rescue.bin which i think is wrong,
it should be more descriptive, because on that screen in tty3 it was
looking in a diff

Hi,
you've probably noticed the mail, I've CC'ed to this list.
Problem: dbootstrap tries to install from images-1.44/drivers.tgz
instead of images-1.44/idepci/drivers.tgz
Booting: using install.bat
Analysis: the kernel doesn't get passed some parameters, mainly
disksize=1.44 flavor=id

I've heard speculation that this is really meaning you fixed the
capability hole in 2.2.15.
Is that right? And what about the other security holes in 2.2.15?

Fixed in CVS. Please check my work.

When I installed Debian "potato" I was not allowed to install LILO to a
logical partition. It says LILO can't be installed there, but in fact
it can. I reconfigured LILO after install to lie in the logical
partition ,and it worked. This may or may not work

In the /etc/alternatives directory, there is a file that says to use the
update-alternatives command to change alternative programs. There is a
manpage, but no update-alternatives command.

I can write it on (f7.txt seems to be alternative for me).
I think f5.txt will be okay.

Boot-floppies: 2.2.15
`modconf' isn't working - cannot find modules. The cure was (iirc)
to go over to vt2 and run:
cd /lib
rm -rf modules
ln -s /target/modules modules
depmod -a -C /target/etc/modules.conf -b /target
This is obviously RC, and so are the following, IMHO.
